Reimagining How Humans Co-Exist
With the Natural World
Long before “smart growth” became a buzzword, Chattahoochee Hills redefined what it means to grow responsibly, embracing agriculture and mixed-use new urbanism. Our 70/30 land preservation model has become a blueprint for communities across the country. Here, walkable hamlets and working farms share the same landscape—creating a place where every decision honors both people and the planet.

Sustainable by Design
At Serenbe—the city’s best-known example of this vision—sustainability is built into the framework of daily life. The community’s wastewater treatment system, geothermal heating and cooling, and rigorous green building standards demonstrate how development can work in partnership with the environment.
From the smallest-ever Silver LEED-certified building to dozens of EarthCraft-certified homes, Serenbe continues to prove that sustainable design can be practical, enduring, and beautiful.
The Agrihood Movement
Chattahoochee Hills has led the agrihood movement, integrating agriculture throughout the community. Neighborhoods share space with working farms, edible landscaping, and weekly markets, ensuring that food production remains central to community life.
Our 25-acre organic farm, along with initiatives like the Conservation Fund’s Working Farms Fund and the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy, helps protect farmland, support local growers, and keep sustainable agriculture thriving for generations to come.

The Community
The design of Chattahoochee Hills encourages people to connect with nature, with neighbors, and with a shared purpose. Front porches, sidewalks, and public green spaces foster a sense of belonging that can’t be manufactured.

The Future
As the city grows, our principles remain the same: preservation of nature, sustainable building practices, and fostering genuine connections.
Our latest developments continue to innovate by exploring new housing solutions, expanding our educational initiatives, and strengthening our community’s bonds.
