SUMMARY:Serenbe Farms Volunteer Day | Get Your Hands Dirty Wednesdays
DESCRIPTION:Organizer: Life at Play Serenbe Farms Volunteer DayWhen: WednesdaysTimes: 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM or 10:00 AM – 12:00 PMWhere: Serenbe Farms\, Chattahoochee Hills\, GA Serenbe Farms Volunteer Day takes place every Wednesday at Serenbe Farms in Chattahoochee Hills. This weekly volunteer opportunity invites community members to experience life on a working farm and support sustainable agriculture. Each visit is different. Depending on the season\, volunteers may plant seedlings\, harvest produce\, prepare beds\, wash vegetables\, or care for crops. Because farm work changes throughout the year\, you may learn something new every time you participate. To prepare for Serenbe Farms Volunteer Day\, dress for the weather. Bring water\, a hat\, gloves\, and sturdy boots. Farm work is active and hands-on\, so preparation helps ensure a safe and comfortable experience. In addition\, volunteering offers more than just physical work. It provides a meaningful way to connect with the land and understand where local food comes from. As a result\, participants leave with a deeper appreciation for sustainable farming. Whether you are new to farming or already enjoy outdoor work\, this weekly volunteer opportunity supports both community and environmental stewardship. Learn more about the farm at https://serenbefarms.com. You can sign up here.

SUMMARY:New Riverlands Park Community Engagement Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Organizer: Life at Play The City of Chattahoochee Hills is taking the next step to elevate New RiverLands Park as part of a regional vision for the Chattahoochee River. The RiverLands\, an initiative of the Trust for Public Land\, is a 100-mile-long public greenway and blueway plan from Buford Dam to Chattahoochee Bend State Park. The City\, in collaboration with Chattahoochee NOW\, is poised to lead the way in its implementation by advancing the plans for this park’s design. While the pavilion\, kayak launch\, and campgrounds are open and available to the public\, the bulk of the 290+ acre property remains inaccessible. This master plan will define the future programming of the rest of this land and catalyze opportunities for greater regional connectivity. Chattahoochee NOW has engaged HGOR\, an Atlanta design firm\, to design the master plan. Over the past month\, HGOR has been developing a conceptual design that incorporates feedback gathered from the June 6th Community Event and an online survey. On July 9th\, the firm presented a draft plan to a Joint Commission Meeting of relevant City Commissions and the CVB for their feedback. The team will continue to receive feedback in meetings with stakeholder groups this month and will present the draft plan to City Council on Tuesday\, August 4th at 6:30pm at City Hall\, and is open to the public. On Saturday\, August 22nd\, from 10am-12noon at City Hall\, the team will host a second community event for the general public to view and comment on the draft concept plan. Please be on the lookout for additional event information through the City’s regular newsletters\, GOGov Mobile App\, and project webpage: https://www.chatthillsga.us/visitors/riverlands.php. You can also learn more about the RiverLands at Trust for Public Land’s website: https://www.chattahoocheeriverlands.com/ You can explore HGOR’s portfolio of work here: https://www.hgor.com/
